Surpassing Glory
Psalm 24:7-10
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
The LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory.

We must actively invite His glory into our lives. The last time I checked, gates do not have heads, people do. With very few exceptions, the decisions we make are determined by our ability to think. What we choose opens or closes a gate. Change always begins with a decision. If we open the gate of our lives and our minds, the KING OF GLORY will come in. Who is this King? The LORD of Hosts He is the King of Glory.
He is YAWEH, the LORD of Hosts. Glory is about Who God IS. Glory is the revelation of His Person. Glory is the demonstration of, “I AM that I AM”. The Lord is not interested in what we think about Him. All that matters is what He reveals about Himself and our response to it. He is not apologetic about Who He is, He is on display. Our only response to His Majesty should be to worship Him.
When Moses asked God to show him His Glory, The LORD passed before him and declared HIS NAME.
Ex. 34:6-7
The LORD passed in front of Moses, calling out,
“Yahweh! The LORD!
The God of compassion and mercy!
I am slow to anger
and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.
7 I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations.
I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin.
But I do not excuse the guilty.
I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren;
the entire family is affected—
even children in the third and fourth generations.”
HIS GLORY IS WHO HE IS AND WHO HE IS, IS GLORIOUS. Moses bowed down and worshipped him. His Glory is His Presence, His Character and His Power. To be exposed to the display of His Glory means to be radiated by the enormity of His fullness.
We will be forever changed - transformed by our encounters with His Presence. In His Presence is “fullness of joy and pleasure forevermore”. In His Presence we find the weightiness of His Splendor. In His Presence we can know the riches of His Wisdom, the fellowship of His suffering and the light of His Glory.
It’s totally worth it. He is the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega. He is the First Word and the Last Word. He is the Great “I AM THAT I AM.”
Romans 11:36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

ACTIVATION
The Hebrew word, “Kabod,” is translated as “Glory,” in English. It also means “weightiness”, “majesty” and “prestige”. You could also make a case for “fame.”
Everyone adjusts their behavior around royalty. We understand how to respect and show courtesy to those we honor. When in the presence of someone famous, we understand we are in a special moment and act accordingly (willing to embarrass ourselves for an opportunity to get that selfie). We know instinctively how to give value and demonstrate “worth-ship”
How will I make room for His Glory in my life? How will I respond to the Self-revelation of the Person of God to me? How does the weightiness of God affect me? How does His Radiance (His Shekinah) melt the resistance inside me to His Word and His Will. Make a decision about what you will do when you are in His Presence. Become a worshipper.
