LET US RIGHTLY DIVIDE GOD'S WORD OF TRUTH 

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  2 Timothy 2:15

Speed is not a factor. Broad familiarity with the stories, history, teaching and message of the Bible. Read as much as you can as often as you can. Some enjoy reading more than others, but find your own way of getting Scripture knowledge to stick through audio, practical application, cartoons (Bible Project) , and reading plans (One-Year Bible).

The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. Psalm 119:130

Make an effort to gain in depth understanding of the original languages, historical and cultural context, insight into the prophetic revelation and fulfillment of Scripture throughout history. Use either a systematic or a guided approach to study the theology and context of the writings and the writers of scripture. Use tools such as the Study Bible, concordance, Bible dictionary/ handbook, Greek and Hebrew word Studies, and commentaries.

The works of the LORD are great, Studied by all who have pleasure in them. Psalm 111:2

Personal revelation gleaned through waiting and reflecting upon the words of scripture and their current application and message for my life. Allow God to speak to your situation through the wisdom of Scripture. Break it down word by word, phrase by phrase, inflection, emphasis, imagination. Go slow. Take all day or all week with a single passage.

My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word. Psalm 119:148

Logos vs. Rhema - The written Word  vs the breathed-on revelation of God's Word to our life.

Listen to preachers and teachers of His Word.

 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for rebuke, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.  2 Timothy 3:16

• DOCTRINE - The framework and grid God builds our lives on
• REBUKE - We humbles ourselves and repent before God
• CORRECTION -  God adjusts our course to a better way
• INSTRUCTION - God shows teachers us the best way to live 

Let Scripture be in your conversation and dialog. Quote it to yourself and adjust to its direction for daily living. The Ten Commandments are the foundation for civilized government.

You shall teach them (the Commandments) diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deuteronomy 6:7

Take time to memorize Scripture. Repeat, reflect, quote, visualize, practice. Check yourself and correct mistakes

 Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.  Psalm 119:11

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Proclaim and declare truth over yourself and your environment.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!" But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "LORD, who has believed our report?" Romans 10:14-16

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith— to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen. Romans 16:25-27

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.  Psalm 119:105

A lamp to my feet so I don't trip and stumble every day. A light to my path so I can find my way through life, make great decisions and stay on course all my days.
